Powazki Cemetery, Warsaw, Poland
~ All Saints Day ~
Crispy day, most of the leaves fallen. Bright sunny
day.
On this day most of the Poles celebrate “All Saints Day”.
In my memory engraved are familiar scent of chrysanthemums, dry leaves and
candles, lots of candles.
Cemetery full of pilgrims, cleaning graves of the ones who already departed
to meet the Creator.
There is some kind of a quite celebration in the act of placing the white
chrysanthemums on the clean graves, lighting candles… Special evening,
cold and warm, at the same time… Together again, for the brief moment…
Moment of celebration.
In the United States we, the Poles, are missing this Special Day. We are trying to bring it in, just for you… We will celebrate the All Saints Day with concert, chrysanthemums, candles…
Come, join us on November 6, 2004 at 7:30PM at the St. Anne’s Church in Fall River, feel this special atmosphere … Honor your loved ones…
Following the Intermission you will enjoy a lighter, but a very special music: Soul, Jazz, Pop – we will celebrate Life ...
